The suppressor, also known as a silencer, reduces (but does not eliminate) the muzzle flash and report (a.k.a. firing noise) of a weapon. In MAG, equipping a suppressor can help you stay under the cover of radar, and to avoid giving away your position on the enemy's minimap. However, should your opponent have an Acoustic Locator, they may still be able to detect you. This accessory weighs 2c; assault rifles, submachine guns, tier one and two snipers, pistols and personal defense weapons (PDWs) equip it at their firepoint. It is the only firepoint attachment.
Advantages:
Increases flanking effectiveness
Lowers recoil
Conceals your position
Faciliatates more stealthy maneuvers
Disadvantages:
Decreases accuracy at long range.
Is countered by the Shot Detection passive skill, which shows the direction of incoming suppressed fire as a faint grey indicator on your HUD; however, a red triangle does not appear above your head.
